Toyin's family transitioned from Aimakhu to Abraham as their surname, honoring their forefathers. Born to Pastor B. E. Aimakhu in Ibadan, Oyo state, she received her primary and secondary education at St. Anne’s School and pursued a Higher National Diploma (HND) in marketing at Ibadan Polytechnic. Later, she earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in philosophy from Olabisi Onabanjo University.
Starting in 2003 with minor roles, Toyin Aimakhu, an Edo-born actress, rose to lead roles in Nigerian films. She has produced, directed, and acted in notable films like Alakada, Alani, Baba Labake, Ebimi nito, Okafor’s Law, and Ebimi ni. In 2013, she founded TAJ Dresses boutique and secured a multimillion contract with technological company Vas2Net in 2014.
After dating Adeniyi Johnson, Toyin married him on July 8th, 2013, but faced rumors of separation in 2015 due to infidelity. Despite reconciling, they eventually parted ways, and Toyin married Kolawole Ajeyemi in 2019. They welcomed a son, Ire, and in December 2022, Toyin revealed a recent pregnancy loss. Rumors suggest she is expecting another child in 2023. Her father, Pastor B. E. Aimakhu, passed away on October 22nd, 2017.
