She hails from Ogun State, which is located in the southwestern part of Nigeria. Scarlet Gomez is of Yoruba ethnicity and follows the Christian religion.

 

One of her notable achievements is her lead role in the telenovela-series called "Wura," which was produced by Showmax Original and aired in 2023. In addition to her acting career, Scarlet Gomez has also participated in the Miss United Nations Tourism pageant and emerged as the winner in 2012. The pageant was held in Kingston, Jamaica.

Scarlet Gomez was born to Nigerian parents in the bustling city of Surulere, Lagos. Her father, Adetokunbo "Toks" Shotade, was a well-known Music Producer and Sound Engineer, whose influence was instrumental in shaping her early interest in music.

 

Her educational journey began at Princeton School for her primary education, followed by Ogunlade College for secondary school. Afterward, she went on to the University of Lagos where she pursued a degree in Business Administration.

 

Early in her life, Scarlet was drawn to pageantry. She participated in several competitions, including Miss Nigeria, Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, and Miss Global Nigeria, where she ended up as a First Runner up. Her crowning achievement in this field was winning the Miss United Nations Tourism pageant in Kingston, Jamaica in 2012.

 

By 2013, Scarlet dabbled in the music industry, making a name for herself as a music video model. She appeared in several popular videos, including Timi Dakolo's "Love Song", Lynxxx's "Eziokwu", Naeto C's "Bartender", and Burna Boy's "Run My Race". She also released her debut single, "Catch Me", produced by DJ Klem, before shifting her focus to acting.

Scarlet's acting career kicked off in 2014 with a role in the Africa Magic original, Scarlet. In 2016, she released her first studio album, The Scarlet Letter, through Knighthouse Entertainment, and was also invited to join the ensemble cast of the M-Net drama series My Flatmates.

 

Her career took another significant turn in 2023 when she was announced as the lead actor in Showmax's first Nigerian telenovela series, Wura, which premiered on 23 January. Her performance in Wura garnered her a nomination for Best Actress in a Drama, Movie Or TV Series at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards. However, she was edged out by Osas Ighodaro, who won the award for her role in Man of God.
