Ruth Kadiri Ezerika was born on March 24th, 1988 in Benin City, located in Edo State, Nigeria. She grew up primarily with her mother and younger sister in Lagos state as her father, Desmond Kadiri, lived overseas. As the eldest child in her family, Ruth didn't have much contact with her father during her childhood.

 

 

Ruth's childhood was typical of many Nigerian children, with much of it spent in the Ajegunle neighborhood in Lagos, a place known for its rough and challenging living conditions. However, she never let her humble beginnings limit her ambitions or dreams.

 

 

As a young girl, Ruth set lofty goals for herself. By the age of eighteen, she aspired to have her own apartment and be financially independent. She even wrote these ambitions down in a book, a testament to her determination. Although her father laughed when he discovered her ambitious plans, his reaction only served to fuel Ruth's determination to achieve her dreams.

Ruth Kadiri, a graduate from the University of Lagos, studied Mass Communication. Prior to this, she had earned a Diploma in Business Administration from Yaba College of Technology. Her educational journey began in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, where she completed her primary and secondary education, and obtained her First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate.

 

 

Following her diploma from Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech), Ruth moved on to the University of Lagos (UNILAG). Here, she completed her bachelor's degree in Mass Communication.

 

 

Ruth made her entry into the Nollywood movie industry with the film "Boy's Cot," sharing the screen with famous actors such as Nonso Diobi, Uche Jombo, Jim Iyke, and Mike Ezuruonye. Since then, she has participated in over fifty films, many of which she has written herself.

 

 

As a screenwriter, Ruth has written and co-written several films. Her works include "Matters Arising," "Heart of a Fighter," "Ladies Men," "Sincerity," "First-Class," and "Over the Sting." She has also produced films, such as "Matters Arising," "Over the Sting," "Somebody Lied," and her most recent work, "Memory Lane," a film about lies and deceit.

 

 

Beyond her work in cinema, Ruth is also a philanthropist. She founded the Ruth Kadiri Kids foundation, which supports underprivileged children in achieving their goals and dreams through financial aid and motivational speeches.
