Akosua Kwakye, better known by her stage name AK Songstress, is a talented dancehall artist from the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Growing up with her grandmother and two siblings, Akosua discovered her passion for acting and music at a young age and participated in several singing activities while in school.

After completing her senior high education, AK Songstress decided to pursue a career in music and was signed on by Paradise Entertainment, the original name behind 4x4 and VIP. She has released twenty-four singles, which have garnered massive airplay and has shot nine videos in Ghana and South Africa.

Managed by Paradise Entertainment, AK Songstress made history as the first female to win the "Discovery of the Year for Dancehall/Reggae Artiste" at the 2014 BASS Awards, competing against male contenders. She also won the maiden edition of "SUPERSTARS REALITY SHOW" with her song "HOLIDAY," which was deemed the most popular song of the competition, and her team won the award for BEST MANAGEMENT TEAM.

Despite being pulled out of the 2015 VGMA awards by her management, AK Songstress went on to win the award for Best Female Musician (GH) at the City People Entertainment Awards Nigeria 2015, as well as the Best Female Vocalist award at the Bass Awards in 2015.

The highlight of her career thus far has been her collaboration with dancehall legend Sizzla Kalonji. Fun fact: AK Songstress loves animals, particularly snakes.
