Umoh Agbaso Obinna known by his stage name Ababanna (Born May 5th 1977) hails from Awaka, Imo State, Nigeria. He is the last child out of 5 children and his father has passed but his mother is alive and well. Ababanna schooled at Holy Ghost College, in Owerri, Imo State and he studied Political Science at the University of Calabar.

On July 20th 2020, Ababanna was reportedly arrested by men of the Nigerian police division at Agbala in Owerri North council area of the state for allegedly raping a 12-year old girl. The Nation reported that the victim is the daughter of a vulcanizer, Victor Okereocha and lives with him after he separated from her mother. She was allegedly raped over three times by the singer.
