Seyi Vibez, whose real name is Oluwaloseyi Afolabi Balogun, was born on July 12th, 2000, to Mr. and Mrs. Balogun. His first name, Oluwaloseyi, originates from Yoruba and means "It is God who has done this." Seyi, as he was affectionately called, spent his early years in a rented house in Ketu, a district in Mainland Lagos. When he turned ten, his family moved to Ikorodu, another densely populated district in Lagos State. Born to Yoruba parents, Seyi Vibez is native to Lagos State and is fluent in English, Yoruba, and Pidgin English. 

From a young age, Seyi Vibez showed a deep appreciation for music, inspired by top Nigerian artists like P-Square, 2baba, D’banj, 9ice, and Olu Maintain. While in high school, he started making his own music and dreamt of one day becoming a superstar in the music industry.

Seyi Vibez's educational journey began at Al-Sodiq Primary School in Ketu. He then moved on to Skylights Secondary School in Agric, Ikorodu, for his high school education. Currently, Seyi Vibez is pursuing a degree in sociology at Lagos State University (LASU). 

Musical career 

Seyi Vibez made his debut in 2019 with his first single, "Anybody". He gained significant popularity in 2021 with his hit song "Godsent". That same year, he released his first studio album titled "No Seyi No Vibez (NSNV)". In 2022, he released his second studio album "Billion Dollar Baby" and its mixtape "Billion Dollar Baby 2.0", which reached number 1 on the Turntable 50 albums chart. In the same year, MoreBranches recognized him as one of the 16 African artists to watch.

On January 6, 2023, Seyi Vibez released his debut Extended Play (EP) titled "Memory Card", which featured the American rapper YXNG K.A. This 5-track EP was a huge success, garnering over 6.3 million streams in its first week. Four of the EP's tracks dominated the Turntable top 10 charts, and Pan African Music listed it as one of the best albums of January 2023.

On February 2, 2023, Nigerian artist Zlatan released a song called "Let There Be Light," featuring Seyi Vibez. The song quickly gained popularity and entered the Apple Music top 100 Nigeria chart at number 14. In August of the same year, he released another song, "Jajoo", and also collaborated with Kizz Daniel on a track.
