John Ikechukwu Okafor, widely known as Mr. Ibu, is a renowned Nigerian actor, singer, writer and comedian hailing from Umunekwu Village in Eziokwe, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria. Born on October 17, 1961, he turned 62 in 2023. Mr. Ibu is celebrated as one of Nigeria’s most talented comic characters, known for his humorous acting style characterized by stupidity, imbecility, and a sharp disconnection from reality. He came into limelight in 2004 after featuring in the blockbuster movie “Mr. Ibu” which gave him the popular nickname ‘Mr. Ibu‘. The movie “Mr. Ibu” which he acted alongside Osita Iheme (Pawpaw).
