Early Life and Education

Kenny Blaq attended primary and secondary school in Ejigbo, Lagos. Due to financial difficulties, he left SS3 and opted for tutorial sessions to finish his WASSCE exam. Later, he underwent training as a compere and presenter at the FRCN Training School in Lagos.

Career

Beginning his comedy journey in 2008, Kenny Blaq has graced top comedy events both within and outside Nigeria. Notable performances include appearances at events like AY LIVE, BasketMouth's "Lord of the Ribs," and international shows in Uganda, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, and the UK. His self-titled comedy concert, "The Oxymoron Of Kennyblaq," received acclaim, winning Best Comedy Show at the 2017 and 2018 Naija 102.3 FM Comedy Awards.

In 2018, Kenny Blaq's international acclaim was solidified with the "Kenny Blaq 'State of Mind'" event at the Indigo O2 in the UK. Recognized as one of the 100 most influential youths in Africa, he won The Future Awards Africa prize for comedy in 2017. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Blaq embarked on a nationwide tour in 2020, which included a 12-city tour of the United Kingdom in 2021.

On November 17, 2021, Kenny Blaq made history as the first home-based comedian from West Africa to have his comedy special fully licensed by Netflix.
