He completed his primary and secondary education in Emene. He attended St. Patrick Secondary School where he obtained the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate (WASSSC) and then went to the United States for further studies in 1985. While in the US, he also pursued a music career. In 2004, he returned to Nigeria to focus on acting.
