Early Life and Education

 

 

Growing up in Koforidua, he received his education at Presbyterian Elementary Schools and the Koforidua Technical Institute.

 

 

 

Career

 

 

 

Elder Mireku embarked on his musical journey in the late 1970s, marking the beginning of a remarkable career. His devotion to worship songs was honored in 2016 when he received an Honorary Doctorate in sacred music from the Ecclesiastical Bishops And Leaders Conference of Africa. Elder Mireku has left an indelible mark on Ghana's gospel music industry, producing an impressive collection of 56 albums and over 500 songs. Among his notable tracks are "Oko no wako awie," "Odimafo (Tongues)," "Hallelujah," and "Mempa Aba." His musical legacy continues to resonate with audiences, showcasing the depth of his impact.

Married to Philomina Mireku, Elder Mireku and his wife share two children, Evelyn and James. In a poignant moment during one of his performances, he revealed grappling with thoughts of suicide after his educational aspirations were shattered.
