Deyemi Okanlawon (born on 19 April 1979), is a Nigerian actor known for his work in film, television, theatre, and as a voice actor and TV/event host. His notable roles include appearances in Omo Ghetto: The Saga, Blood Sisters, and King of Boys: The Return of the King. Deyemi has earned recognition as the highest-grossing Nollywood actor for the years 2020, 2021, and 2022. Presently, he holds the position of Director of Planning/Strategy at the Actors Guide of Nigeria (AGN).

Early Life and Education

 

 

 

Deyemi Okanlawon, born on 19 April 1979 in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, is the son of Aircraft Engineer Adeyemi Okanlawon and entrepreneur Adeyinka Okanlawon. He attended Taikenny Nursery and Primary School for his primary education and later pursued his secondary education at International School, Lagos. His tertiary education began with studies in chemical engineering at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Prior to his acting career, he worked as a baker and in sales and marketing, holding a certificate from the New York Film Academy in acting for film.

Deyemi Okanlawon initiated his acting journey at the age of 5 in primary school, with his feature film debut in the 2010 movie ZR-7. Gaining recognition in 2012 through internet short films and web series like Blink, 6:30pm, and Knock Knock, he later transitioned to focus entirely on acting in 2013. His filmography includes collaborations with notable actors such as Genevieve Nnaji, OC Ukeje, RMD, Nancy Isime, and others.

In 2013, Deyemi Okanlawon married Damilola Okanlawon, and they celebrated their 10th anniversary in January 2023. The couple has two children, Demide Okanlawon and Adeife Oluwatunwase Okanlawon.
