Born on June 25, 1997, in Lagos to parents from the South, Bayanni spent his childhood in the bustling city, surrounded by family. His love for music blossomed early, exposing him to a diverse range of genres from Afrobeats to Hip-Hop, R&B, Fuji, Highlife, Soul, and Pop.
Growing up in Lagos, Bayanni's musical journey found expression in the community church choir, where he cultivated both vocal and compositional skills from a young age.
Bayanni's educational path led him through prestigious institutions in Lagos. He completed elementary schooling in Mainland Lagos at a distinguished private nursery and primary school, followed by high school at a prestigious secondary institution. He later pursued higher education at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).
Choosing pop music over evangelical music, Bayanni embarked on his journey as a professional musician. Influenced by Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Olamide, he began crafting Afropop and Afrobeats songs in the comfort of his home and dorm room.
Within months, Bayanni, armed with improved composition skills, ventured into recording studios near his school, forming connections with sound producers in Lagos and Ile-Ife who recognized his musical talent.
In his quest for musical advancement, Bayanni began recording covers of popular songs, sharing them on his social media platforms. Notably, he released his version of Ckay's Felony in April 2021, followed by covers of Davido's Jowo on October 14, 2021, and Fireboy DML's Peru on October 19, 2021.
The much-anticipated single, "African Beauty," dropped on April 12th, 2022, produced by Blaise Beatz and mixed by Michael Synx. The accompanying music video, produced by Pharouk Damilola Films, was also unveiled on the same day. "African Beauty" swiftly gained traction, climbing the Afropop charts with numerous streams and downloads.
Bayanni's repertoire extends beyond covers, featuring tracks like "Duro" (with Frescool), "BMW," and "Ballerina." Making a noteworthy comeback, he officially joined the Mavins in August 2022, with an introduction video featuring Mr. Funny, Don Jazzy, and comedian Brain Jotter.
Shortly after his Mavins debut, Bayanni released "The Bayanni EP," a 4-track production under exclusive license from Mavin Global Holdings. This project includes captivating songs like "Body," "Family," "Ta Ta Ta," "Kala," and more, solidifying his presence in the international music scene.
Bayanni was announced member of Mavin Records by the founder and CEO, Collins Michael popularly known as Don Jazzy on August 23, 2022, becoming part of a talented roster that includes artists like Boy Spyce, Ruger, Ladipoe, Ayra Starr, Crayon, Rema, Magixx, and others.
