Asake pursued his education at Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria, focusing on Theatre and Dramatic Arts.
He started his music career in 2017 and gained recognition in 2022 with the release of the single "Mr. Money." Olamide signed Asake to his YBNL Records imprint in February 2022, and he released his debut EP, "Ololade."
Asake's debut studio album, "Mr. Money with the Vibe," released in September 2022, broke records globally, debuting at number 66 on the Billboard 200. The album featured hit singles like "Terminator," "Peace Be Unto You," and a remix of "Sungba" with Burna Boy.
Asake announced the Mr. Money with the Vibe United Kingdom tour, selling out multiple dates. Unfortunately, a tragic incident occurred during one of the shows, resulting in critical injuries and two fatalities.
In June 2023, Asake released his second studio album, "Work of Art," which also debuted at number 66 on the Billboard 200, reaching notable positions on the UK Albums Chart and the Irish Recorded Music Associate.
Asake is known for his uptempo Afro and Amapiano-styled production. His style, characterized by singing in Yoruba and the use of slang, is sometimes likened to fuji music. He incorporates backing vocals into his music.
Asake has received several awards, including the Male MVP award at the Soundcity MVP Awards and the Best African Artist of the Year at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. He also won the 2023 Headies Next rated award and Album of the Year for "Mr. Money With The Vibe."
