Waje, the firstborn in her family, grew up in Benin City after her parents' divorce. She faced challenges during her youth, including getting pregnant during her final year of secondary school. Despite temporary setbacks, Waje's talent shone through as she impressed Archbishop Benson Idahosa with her gospel singing. She pursued a degree in Social Work at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, honing her skills while drawing inspiration from iconic artists like Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin.

Waje's musical journey began with features on P-Square's "Omoge Mi" and "Do Me" in 2008. She contributed vocals to songs by Banky W and M.I.
