Tope Alabi, born on October 27, 1970, in Lagos, Nigeria, is a renowned gospel singer, film music composer, and actress. Known as Ore ti o common and Agbo Jesu, she has left an indelible mark on the Nigerian gospel music scene.

Early Life and Education

 

 

 

Born into the family of Pa Joseph Akinyele Obayomi and Madam Agnes Kehinde Obayomi, Tope is the only daughter among three siblings. Hailing from Yewa, Imeko, Ogun State, she obtained her West Africa School Certificate from Oba Akinyele Memorial High School, Ibadan, in 1986. Tope pursued Mass Communication at the Polytechnic Ibadan, graduating in 1990.

Tope Alabi's musical journey began at the tender age of seven when she joined the choir in her local Catholic church.
