Hailing from Ajilete, Yewa South LGA in Ogun State, Reminisce, born Remilekun Abdulkalid Safaru, developed a passion for music during his school years. Influenced by various genres, he studied purchasing and supply at Kwara State Polytechnic after completing his education at Nana Primary School and the College of Education Demonstration Secondary School.
Reminisce's foray into the music scene dates back to 2006 when he recorded his first song. His early attempt at a rap album was cut short as he chose to focus on completing his education. In 2008, he returned with a rap verse on 9ice's "Bachelor's Life," marking his resurgence. His debut single, "Ever Since," featuring 9ice, laid the foundation for his musical journey. Time Magazine recognized him as one of the "World Rappers You Should Meet" in 2014, solidifying his impact.
Under Les Roses Rouge (LRR) Records, Reminisce achieved a remarkable feat by having two albums debut on the Billboard charts - "Baba Hafusa" at number 12 and "El-Hadj" at number 13.
Venturing into acting, Reminisce played a pivotal role in the Nigerian movie "King of Boys," directed by Kemi Adetiba. His character, "Makanaki," showcased his versatility and received acclaim. The movie's success opened doors for Reminisce, expanding his presence in the Nigerian film industry.
Married to Iya Hafusa, Reminisce is a family man blessed with two children Hafusa Safaru and Fatimah Safaru.
