Onoriode Ebiere Ariyo, born on October 1st, 1984, professionally known as Onos Ariyo, is a talented Nigerian singer and songwriter renowned for her impactful contributions to the gospel music realm. Early Life and Education




Onos, born as Onoriode Ebiere Bikawei, discovered her vocal prowess in the vibrant surroundings of Delta State. Her early education, marked by primary and secondary schooling, laid the foundation for a later academic pursuit at Delta State University, Abraka. In 2004, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in French, a testament to her dedication to both education and her burgeoning passion for music.




Musical Career




The cadence of Onos's musical journey commenced in primary school, where she became a harmonious force in various choirs and groups. Relocating to Lagos in 2004 served as a turning point, leading her to record her inaugural single, "Dance," produced by FLO. Subsequent years witnessed her headlining numerous gospel concerts, including the globally acclaimed "The Experience - Lagos," sharing stages with luminaries like Travis Greene, Kirk Franklin, and Donnie McClurkin.


In 2010, Onos released her debut album, "Keep Moving," a resonant proclamation of her musical prowess. The transformative release came in 2014 with the album "No Limits," featuring breakthrough hits like "Alagbara" and "Everything Has Changed." This marked her ascendancy in the gospel music scene, garnering accolades and nominations for her remarkable contributions.


Onos's commitment to uplifting fellow female artists is evident in her role as the Nigerian coordinator for Women of African Origin in Music Ministry (WAOMM). The intersection of fashion and music found expression in her 2012 creation, "For the Love of the Season." Additionally, she initiated the soul-stirring monthly live worship event, "B R E A T H E," in 2018.


Her third studio album, "Songs from the Place of Prayer" (2017), garnered rave reviews, setting the stage for her fourth offering, "Breathe," released on 28 July 2019 through the music streaming service Boomplay.

Awards and Recognition




Onos's melodic prowess has not gone unnoticed, earning her accolades such as the Best Female Vocalist at the Nigeria Gospel Music Awards (2012) and the Crystal Awards (2013). The year 2015 brought double triumph as she clinched the Wise Women Awards and the Eloy Awards for Female Gospel Artist Of The Year. The pinnacle of recognition arrived in 2018 when she received the Female Artist of Excellence Award at the African Gospel Music Awards (AGMMA) in the UK.


In August 2018, Onos, alongside other MIPAD honorees, graced the Gong closing ceremony, "Celebration of Excellence," hosted by the Nigerian stock exchange, with the distinguished presence of former Vice President Namadi Sambo.
