Okafor Uchenna Victor, also known as Mr Real or Realself, was born on September 8, 1996, in Lagos State, Nigeria. Originally from Okija, Anambra State, he has played a notable role in shaping the Afropop and hip-hop music scenes.

Early Life

 

 

 

Mr Real's roots trace back to Okija, Anambra State, where he was born to parents from the same region. His journey into the music scene began to gain momentum after the release of the popular street anthem "Legbegbe."

 

 

 

Musical Career

 

 

 

In high school, Mr. Real discovered his love for music and joined a band covering songs from the famous Nigerian group, Plantashun Boiz. Influenced by 2face Idibia and South African band Uhuru, his musical journey started.

 

Transitioning to music production in 2002, he faced initial setbacks, but in 2006, Mr. Real recorded his first single, "Kakaraka," with Terry G. Despite its modest success, he persisted in pursuing his music career.

 

The breakthrough came with the hit "Legbegbe," meaning "side by side" in Yoruba. Inspired during a meal at a local restaurant, the song went viral, introducing the popular dance style, "Shaku Shaku."

 

Collaborating with renowned Nigerian artists like D’Banj, Slimcase, and Falz, Mr. Real continues to create music and captivate audiences with his dynamic performances.
