Egwu Ekpili is a style of music which originated from the Igbo people in southeastern part of Nigeria. The Igbo's are made up of 18% of the Nigeria's population.

Egwu Ekpili music are made up of locally made instruments, consisting the "Ubo," a thumb guitar, and the "Ichaka," which are still used to this day. Prominent pioneers of Egwu Ekpili music include Emeka Morocco, Ezigbo Obligbo, Ozoemena Nsugbe, and many others. These artists have made significant contributions to the development and popularization of Egwu Ekpili music within the Igbo community.
